Barry Williams Reveals the Truth about his unforgettable jungle journey after exiting I’m a Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here! Australia 2026 earlier than fans expected. Although his time on the show ended sooner than many hoped, his presence clearly left a lasting impression. Even now, viewers haven’t stopped talking about him, with social media flooded with messages saying he deserved to stay longer — and might have easily reached the finals if the result depended on public votes.
Barry himself doesn’t disagree.
“They’ll have to have me back when it’s a popularity contest,” he joked while speaking to WHO, showing that his sense of humour is very much intact.
While many contestants focus on the drama and challenges of jungle life, fans were more curious about what really happens behind the scenes. And Barry didn’t hold back when revealing some of the show’s toughest secrets.
Barry Williams Reveals the Truth : What do contestants eat off camera?
If you think celebrities are secretly enjoying proper meals away from the camera, think again.
According to Barry, food is extremely limited — and honestly, pretty brutal.

“Nothing,” he said bluntly. “Four tablespoons of porridge in the morning. That’s it. Rice and beans don’t come until late afternoon.”
That means no snacks, no hidden chocolate bars, no energy drinks, and definitely no comfort food. Contestants are constantly running on low fuel while still facing physically demanding challenges.
For Barry, this strict diet turned out to be one of the hardest parts of the entire experience.
“It’s the hardest part of the show. Everybody lost weight. I lost around three pounds,” he admitted.
The hunger, more than the bugs or the weather, tested everyone’s patience and stamina.
Strict jungle rules fans don’t see
Food isn’t the only thing that’s restricted. In fact, daily life in the jungle is filled with surprising rules most viewers never hear about.
Barry revealed that contestants must wear their microphones at all times — yes, even during awkward late-night bathroom trips. Privacy is almost non-existent.
Simple everyday comforts are also taken away. Campmates can’t use deodorant (only basic soap), there’s no hot water for showers, and watches or calendars are banned. Phones and any contact with family or friends are completely off-limits.
The goal is total disconnection from the outside world.
On top of that, the wildlife is very real. Contestants regularly share space with snakes, monkeys, and even baboons wandering through camp.
“If you stare at the ground long enough, it comes alive,” Barry joked, describing how insects and creatures are constantly moving around.
No smoking, no drinking, no cheating
For those wondering whether contestants get small luxuries like cigarettes or a drink to relax — the answer is simple: absolutely not.
Smoking, vaping, and alcohol are strictly banned.
“No wine, nothing,” Barry explained. “You can’t even sneak anything in.”
While Barry said he personally didn’t struggle with this rule, he admitted it could be extremely challenging for others who rely on those habits back home.
Losing track of time
One of the strangest parts of jungle life is the complete loss of time awareness.
With no clocks, watches, or phones, contestants have no idea what day it is. Life becomes completely controlled by the sun.
Wake up at sunrise. Sleep after sunset. Repeat.
Barry shared how confusing it became.
“I thought it was Wednesday. Turns out we’d only been there two nights,” he laughed.
Without modern distractions, days start blending together quickly. Surprisingly, though, Barry found this simplicity refreshing rather than stressful.
“It was nice to know I could live without all the things I thought I depended on. No phone. No contact with anyone you love. That’s what we signed up for,” he said.
Why Barry said yes to the jungle
For Barry, joining I’m A Celeb wasn’t just about reality TV exposure. It was something much more personal.
He had always dreamed of going on a safari and experiencing life close to nature. The show offered exactly that — plus a little adventure.

“This actually seemed even better,” he explained. “I got to do a real safari before we started, then live off-grid with new people, doing all these zany, crazy challenges. That really appealed to my personality.”
He also appreciated that the show isn’t as cutthroat as people assume.
“It’s not mean-spirited. You’re competing, but really for your campmates. The drama people see sometimes? That’s just a little spice for TV.”
Who does Barry want to win?
Even though he doesn’t know how the season ends, Barry has several favourites.

He praised Conchetta for her quiet strength, Dyson for his leadership skills, Luke for his survival instincts, and Gary Sweet, with whom he built a strong bond over their acting careers.
But if he had to choose just one?
“Luke would be a very appropriate winner,” Barry said. “That guy can do anything.”
No matter who takes the crown, one thing is certain — Barry Williams may be out of the jungle, but fans definitely haven’t forgotten him.
